Summer Sunshine Wishes!

I’m sharing some “Sunshine” with you today!  You will find details below for my upcoming Sunshine Wishes class and a yummy recipe full of sunshine at the bottom of this post!  I’m starting however, with some insight on waiting… for sunshine.

It’s been a challenging Summer for me to work on any projects that require using my hands.  I’ve been dealing with a “trigger thumb” since early Spring.  And of course it’s on my dominate right hand that I need everyday.  I thought I was just overworking it and tried to give it some rest.  It’s amazing how much we use our thumb.  I can’t even begin to tell you how many things I have dropped… and broken in the last few months.  Continue reading

Quick and Simple Spring Tablescape

Easter Table 2016 www.stampwithanita.com

We had a blessed Easter with family and friends celebrating our Risen Lord.  It was such a treat to have ALL our kiddos home and even a few extra.  The pic above of our table shows the calm before the storm.  I think this is the first year I actually gave in and used paper and plastic plates. GASP!!!  I know…  I couldn’t believe it either.  But as I was setting up the table Saturday night I didn’t want to spend my time on Easter hand washing all those china dishes.  It’s okay to take a break some years and as our family continues to grow and move out our time with all of them here together is priceless. Have you ever wondered?

Have you ever wondered about the process of how Stampin’ Up! stamps come to be? Enjoy this quick little video which highlights the various aspects of making stamps. Which part of the process is the most interesting to you? For me it is the actual design aspect. Boy would I love to have that tablet that Kathy Pitt has! Enjoy!

Simple Spring Tablescape

This is what I call “the calm before the storm”.  We had a simple yet very pretty table for Easter this year.  With just a few punches, some cardstock and chocolate I was able to add the perfect touch to our table. Continue reading

We all love receiving gifts.  But I’ve found that the joy found in giving can not even compare. This FREE Tutorial is my gift to you.  You will find the link below.

This past week and weekend was fully packed with lots of gift giving and blessings!  I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday.  Not just any birthday… this was the BiG one!  The BiG FIVE-0!  When did that happen?  Doesn’t seem possible.

But I have to say… my family made this the best birthday ever… regardless of the number.  Have I mentioned just how much I love this man who is a true gift from God to me. Continue reading

Scalloped Tag Topper Punch Card Closure

It’s been a busy time filled with kid’s activities and sharing in their awesome accomplishments. I will take time to share more on that with you in another post, but wanted you know that even though I’ve been away from posting my thoughts have been with you all.  I don’t know about you but this long Winter has really taken a toll on me and my energy level.  But today on this first day of Spring I wanted to share a beautiful Spring card that has a special closure that features the new Scalloped Tag Punch.

Scallop Tap Punch Card Closure 4 www.stampwithanita.comI just love the colors on this card and how it beckons Spring to come.  I know I am so ready for warmer weather…. my aching joints are crying out for it to come soon!  This card was inspired by a make & take Addy Jester designed for us at a team meeting.  I added my own little flare by using the Chalk Talk Framelits Die.  So let me share with you how to make this card…

Start with a 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of cardstock.  You will be punching on both 5 1/2″ ends.  Insert cardstock into the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch all the way and center from top to bottom.  Before you punch look from the back so you can see that the card stock is pushed flush all the way into the edge of the punch.  You will do the same on the opposite side.  See photo and tip below to get both sides matched up.

Scallop Tap Punch Card Closure How To 3 www.stampwithanita.comTIP: To easily match up both sides so they are aligned insert the opposite side of the cardstock and when looking from the back pull the side of the cardstock that you already punched back over to where you are punching now and you can visually align both sides up to match.

Now with both sides punched you will score the right side of your card.  Use the Stampin’ Trimmer and score down along where the punch cut into the cardstock.  On my Stampin’ Trimmer the cardstock lined up at the 7/8″ mark as shown above.

Scallop Tap Punch Card Closure How To 5 www.stampwithanita.comOnce you have the first side scored you will then cut away the extra pieces as shown above.

Scallop Tap Punch Card Closure How To 7 www.stampwithanita.comYou will then do the same thing to the other side that you punched… but on this side you will only need to cut the pieces away and NOT score.

Scallop Tap Punch Card Closure How To 8 www.stampwithanita.comOnce both sides are complete you will slide the piece of cardstock back into your Trimmer and the side that a has the cut and score you will score again at the 4 1/4″ mark. This will become the back/inside of your card and will make more sense as you go along.

Scallop Tap Punch Card Closure How To 9 www.stampwithanita.comWhen you are finished this is what you should have. You can discard the cut out pieces.

Scallop Tap Punch Card Closure How To 10 www.stampwithanita.com    Scallop Tap Punch Card Closure How To 11 www.stampwithanita.comFold your card on score lines and finish as desired.  For my card I attach a 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) on inside right edge as shown. I used the lovely Sweet Sorbet DSP (#133521) that you can earn for FREE right now during Sale-A-Bration.  On the outside flap I embossed a 2 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Pool Party Cardstock with the NEW Scallops Textured Impressions Embossing Folder  (#132971) found in the Occasions Catalog.
